AhlulBayt News Agency: The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared their intent to enforce a full aerial blockade on Israel, vowing to repeatedly target airports.
According to PressTV, in a statement issued Sunday night, the Yemeni military specifically warned that Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv would be among their primary targets. They urged all international airlines to heed this declaration and suspend flights to Israeli airports to ensure passenger and aircraft safety.
The statement emphasized Yemen’s firm stance against continued regional aggression, rejecting submission and asserting its readiness for confrontation. It denounced Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Syria, reaffirming Yemen’s refusal to accept external violations.
Meanwhile, the United States, under President Donald Trump’s administration, has conducted daily airstrikes on Yemen since March 15, claiming to have hit over 1,000 targets in an effort to curb Yemeni military operations in the Red Sea and occupied Palestinian territories.
On Saturday, Yemeni forces launched their fourth missile strike within 24 hours against Israeli-held areas, triggering widespread air raid sirens. Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, confirmed the operation, stating that an Israeli military position south of Tel Aviv had been targeted in retaliation.
Since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza, Yemen has carried out numerous operations in support of Palestinian civilians, striking Israeli positions and vessels in the region. In response, the U.S. established a maritime task force in the Red Sea in December 2023 to safeguard Israeli-bound shipments.
Yemen’s forces countered by escalating attacks on strategic Israeli and American military assets, including warships and aircraft carriers stationed off Yemen’s coast.
